7 Young Girls Carrying Oil Lamps For The Menorah

The Menorah sat in the Temple of God outside the Holy of Holies. Its significance was it was the only pure light in the Temple, no other light used. The 7 Spirits of God it was meant to represent for one instance. The Holy Light of God. The expression of the Light of God in man. Also the wedding party, but here I will continue on the line of Light of God.

In Jerusalem, the Menorah for the next temple has sat alone, in silence in the Kardio/Cardio(Heart). That sentence alone could make for inspiration.

After much prayer, discussion, and decision-making, it was time. The Menorah was cleaned and polished before the move. I watched as the glass cased 1/2 ton Menorah procession moved from the Kardio to the end of a staircase leading to the Temple Mount during the 7th night of Chanuka, rededication ceremony, Tevet 2/December 10, 2007. The Menorah was prepared by encasing it in smaller glass and a protective frame before the move. It was heavy because it was covered in gold, I was also told it was pure gold. Its intricate carvings where beautiful. Before the move it was covered in blue velvet covering. The movers assigned for the task moved the strapped down Menorah over steps, archways, and obstacles without problem. No doubt with great prethought of who and how it was to be done.

The people that joined in the move where praising, dancing, and singing glory to God as the procession to take the Menorah went through the streets of Jerusalem. Now I can say I have seen jews dancing in the street praising God, they know how to give it all they got, let me tell you, whether old or young. Dancing before the Lord, like David did.

Here is what got me excited. The 7 oil lamps sitting on top of each candlestick was carried by 7 young girls from Kardio to the bottom of the Temple Mount staircase! The girls picture is on the Temple Mount Institute website. Then the parable of the 10 virgins with their lamps hit me.

"At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like 10 girls that went to wait for the bridegroom. They brought their lamps with them. 5 of the girls were foolish. And 5 of the girls were wise. The 5 foolish girls brought their lamps, but they did not bring more oil for the lamps to burn. The wise girls brought their lamps and more oil in jars. The bridegroom was very late. All the girls became tired and began sleeping. "At midnight someone announced, 'The bridegroom is coming! Come and meet him!' "Then all the girls woke up. The girls made their lamps ready. But the foolish girls said to the wise girls, 'Give us some of your oil. The oil in our lamps is all gone.' "The wise girls answered, 'No! The oil we have might not be enough for all of us. But go to the people that sell oil and buy some for yourselves.' "So the five foolish girls went to buy oil. While they were gone, the bridegroom came. The girls that were ready went in with the bridegroom to the wedding feast. Then the door was closed and locked. "Later the other girls came. The girls said, 'Sir, sir, open the door to let us in.' "But the bridegroom answered, 'I tell you the truth. I don't know you.' "So always be ready. You don't know the day or the time {when the Son of Man will come}. Matthew 25:1-13

On arrival to the Temple Mount, two rabbis stood on each side of the Menorah, and with long silver trumpets, gave trumpet announcement. Just to hear it, would make my heart flip a couple of times. The first lamp replaced on the Menorah was to the right.

There was golden light bathing the worshippers from all 7 oil lamps. A replica of David's lyre of nine strings was played a Psalm praising God.

Sounds like a book from the Bible doesn't it? These are glorious days for us all. The purpose of the light in our lives is to bring light to the darkness in the world, light which can not be hidden, and when set out, gives light to all it touches. Each day of our lives is different, as each of the 7 oil lamps bring light to each day. The servant candle which represents the Messiah, lights our souls, and lights our way. Isn't interesting that God is our Light, and we reflect light back to Him. Even in the wilderness tabernacle, the Menorah Light was the night light. As it is in heaven, so it is on earth.

The Menorah was located in Wohl Herodian Museum, an actual archeological restored second Temple priest's residence. King David's Lyre is a new addition of the collection of Temple vessels and musical instruments. Oleg Rabinovitch and his father was the provider to build the golden menora 7 years ago.
Ya'akok Davidov is the master gold artisan who restored the menora in preparation, and master goldsmith Chaim Odem who originially designed the menora.
