Daniel leans back in his chair with a sigh and admires the view from his 15th floor office window. He thinks of the accomplishments of the day with great pride. All of his clients left his office satisfied with the direction of their projects. After a quick phone call to his wife, letting her know he was on his way home, Daniel began to clean up his desk and make his way to the parking garage. Lost in the joy of his successes, Daniel unaware that he is being watched and followed made his way down the stairs to his car. Suddenly he is surprised by two men from behind, they hit him over the head and take his keys and push him into his car and they speed off into the night. Daniel is now taken captive and a prisoner of these two men. He is tied up and bound from head to foot and cannot move an inch.
The men take his phone and begin to demand that he call his wife and tell her to get $50,000 dollars cash and bring it to 1727 22nd Street at 11:30 p.m. and drop it into a garbage bind behind a restaurant. They tell her do not call the cops or anyone else for help or we’ll kill your husband. Well she of course is hysterical. Her first thought is to do exactly what the men told her to do. However, after calming herself down some, she decides to call the cops and tell them everything the men demanded. After the cops arrived she called a couple of friends and told them the news and asked if they would come over to comfort her in her distress.
The two men were unaware that Daniel had a hidden GPS device installed in his car. The police were able to use that device, and closed off several blocks around that drop location. The men were apprehended and Daniel freed from his captivity.
This pictures how Satan binds us in sin and makes us his captive or prisoner to accomplish his will. Many times he uses brut force and intimidation to keep us bound by some particular pet sin. He makes us feel guilt and shame over those pet sins until we sink deeper and deeper into its grasp. But when we trust the Lord Jesus and depend upon Him, He will say “Loose Him Devil and let him go.”
Lord Jesus, help me know that I am not to ever be intimidated by the Devil and that being close and intimate with you will break all of Satan’s strongholds in my life. Lord Jesus you are my sun and shield and you bestow grace and glory upon me each and everyday and I’m a King and Priest in your site.
Sincerely in Christ,

I "came calling" to return the favor, after reading your comment on my story "Investments," and found this title. Wow, do I ever like messages in parable form! A good story, as you've written here, sure grabs a reader's attention, and IMO sticks the message in one's memory better than a plain admonition without story attached. Thank you for writing this, and for taking time to leave a comment for me. I'm pleased to make your acquaintence!
