The Power of Silence

Lord, how we long to hear your voice
A quiet heart, should be our choice
Our rest is you, to find our way
Never to doubt, your presence to stay
Lessons we learn, your ways, your teaching
Learning to lean, to listen, ever reaching
Never to doubt, faith alone, we'll reach out
Learn to be still, no need to shout
By our heart we listen, we dare not tarry
Lead us, we ask, our burdens to carry
Our prayer is most precious, in our walk of faith
Jesus, our Lord, make no mistake
Lord, we're never alone, you’re always near
Teach us, be slow to speak, but quick to hear
We’ll listen to you, praying your name
Father, through Son, one and the same
With each new dawning, as with evening tide
The power of silence, ever working, in us abide
AMEN
