I gave myself a rare pleasure today,
for I knew this would be a holiday,
to stay in bed and sleep.
The weather was supposed to rain,
the banks and post office would be closed,
that was plain,
so this would be a treat!
Of course then I woke up too soon,
the daylight hadn't even entered the room,
but staying under the covers was so sweet!
Later I awoke with a start,
the day was already gone, I felt in my heart,
then I knew that time was just not that fleet!
Then I remembered my prayers to say,
to make the most of the rainy, wet day,
fill it with love and joy to make it complete.
I know the most important things to say and do,
all are centered around God and you,
and our love so true!
These words may be silly, but the sentiments true,
every day our love is deeper, fresh and new,
and oh, how I LOVE YOU!!!
