The hiker whose body was found in the north Georgia woods days after her disappearance was decapitated after she died of a blow to the head, a medical examiner reported.
The body of Meredith Emerson, a former resident of Longmont, Colorado was found after a drifter accused of kidnapping her told authorities where to look, officials said.
Emerson Meredith is symbolic of every young American who wishes to use their God given right of exploring the vast nature and wildlife of America, home of the free. However, in her circumstance, her innocent choice to explore nature ended tragically at the hands of a demented man.
Her parents will no longer have the pleasure of seeing her beautiful smiling face. Her parents will not have the pleasure of seeing her dreams come true. Her parents will not have the pleasure of seeing her live out the American Dream.
Nevertheless, in what has become so common, her murderer will be allowed to live out the rest of his days in prison. He will have the opportunity to eat, sleep, work-out, watch television, talk on the phone to friends and associates, and perhaps even make new friends.
Where is the deterrent? Where is the justice? Where is the written guarantee that your daughter won’t be next?
Meredith Emerson, she could have been your daughter.
