Mighty winds blew and swept throughout the night,
cleansing souls of sins, dropping them out of sight.
The rebellious one's slates were finally wiped clean,
nothing remained but their joyful songs they sang.
Oh, what joy as freed sinners rejoiced and praised their King,
gracious to Him for all the records He'd wiped clean.
The battle was won and they were all set free,
now they lived their lives in complete honesty.
When I refused to confess of my errors and sins,
I was weak and miserable and the devil lived within.
I longed for freedom as the sins riddled my soul,
moaning and groaning afraid God would call me home.
God's mighty hand laid on me day and night,
leaving me challenged and feeling the blight.
His discipline was laying heavy on my soul,
my sins ate at my heart, leaving it soiled and foul.
My strength was sucked up like water in arid heat,
I could do nothing...I was weak and couldn't eat,
confessing the sins I tried to hide from Him,
He forgave me and welcomed me to come on in.
