A Morning of Grace

The sun made its slow,
but sure climb
over the horizon,
breaking through the darkness
with the most beautiful colors
of morning.

All my tears
were wiped away
with soft as cotton white.
My regrets died
under magenta‘s
healing touch.
Fear fled
with the promise
of bright blue
to come.

Peace I haven’t known before
rested on my pillow,
breathing gently
a whisper of light
through my hair
as royal purple seeped through
my eastern window.

Though alone,
I know I woke
in the arms of my First Love.
I always do.
I laid me down there
long ago,
just knowing His arms
are stronger and more capable
than my own.
He can carry me
when I don’t have the strength
to carry myself.

I found it easier
to just let Him carry me
all the time.
Though surrender came to me
like pulling teeth.
Yet, here I am,
fully surrendered.

No,
I don’t always wake up
to a sunny day.
Birdsong doesn’t always
fill my air.
I’m not always bathed in peace
or contentment.

So it takes days like this
to remind me
that “sorrow may come
with the night,
but joy comes in the morning.”
As His timing isn’t like ours,
morning doesn’t always come
in just twenty-four hours.
But come, it does.
And it comes
right on time.

I fall short,
sometimes very short.
And yet,
though often hidden behind clouds
of doubt
or fear,
mercy comes
every morning,

every morning,
every morning,
just as sure as the sun.

Today,
grace
and peace
came along with mercy
as it made its slow,
but sure climb
over the horizon,
breaking through the darkness
with most beautiful colors.

Your words spoke into my need, this afternoon, Joyce ... into my current desert place. I needed their hope ... their promise ... the perspective of their abundant truth. God bless you, my friend, as you continue to faithfully pursue His heart ... sharing that journey so gloriously with us.

What a beautiful and comforting poem Joyce. No morning does not always come in 24 hours just like you say. But come it does and through His love and mercy, joy comes in the morning, bringing with it His love and grace. I love you, Sharon

Treava...how very lovely! You 'paint' such a beautiful picture with your words. I can 'see' that 'morning of Grace' and even feel the peacefulness you describe. Yes, God's timing is always right and His mercy always comes on time. When we place ourselves in His arms, the world feels right and our lives take shape. What a wonderful way to wake up! This is an exquisite piece. With love, Peggy

Yet, here I am, fully surrendered. Yes, and it shows in this beautiful work. This has the fingerprints of the Holy Spirit all over it. God bless you for surrendering unto His voice. Love in Christ, Julia

Treava, Behold, it is a new day. His grace is enough and you are right where He means for you to be. It all happened that we would... "recognize that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord.” (Deuteronomy 8:2-3) The Glory of the Lord has risen, illuminating the darkness, empowering you for the new day. Listen to the Father sing over you with joy. He says to you, "I've got this." He's in full control. Ahh that rest. Love ya bunches.

Very beautiful, Treava, as all your articles are. The picture was heavenly, the message comforting.....We have had our share of trials these past months--unusually bad weather, death of a pet, going back and forth to the hospital for Hart, a new rescue dog, Hart in the hospital for two weeks, computer problems, every day pressing things....All tests that are temporary. But God gives strength....And I am glad that the morning comes after the NIGHT... God bless you. Sorry I haven't been able to get to all your articles. ... Helen
