VOICE: God, can you hear me?
Can anybody’s GOD hear me?
These days that are ahead of us
have not been like the past.
We used to know for certain
and we worshipped ‘til the last.
Or was it just as bad then?
Maybe we just don’t know.
Perhaps it’s only a matter of showing
what we want to show.
Telling behind a curtain
what we want to tell.
Giving up our millions so
we wouldn’t go to hell.
Saying we believe when
we’re afraid to say we don’t.
We pledge our souls in death
but alive we know we won’t.
Tormenting all our victims
behind a burning cross.
Never knowing what we’ve done
or what we might have lost.
Watching gold candles burn
and trays being passed ‘round.
Silent ears are listening
to hear your money sound.
People dieing everywhere
without water to drink.
And, we saw a woman who gave a buck,
wrapped up in a mink.
Silver goblets we take of wine
and wonder what we’ve done.
Knowing all along—too much of nothing
and now we’ve nowhere to run.
Can’t take false descriptions
of how we should act.
Can’t take people telling me
there way is the fact.
Waiting for people to say
no way is the best.
Knowing after that He’ll
take care of all the rest.
Now I know there is one way
and I am truly Blessed.
Jesus is the only Savior that I will profess.
