This morning is dreary, the clouds are gray,
the rain drops slowly falling down,
but in my heart I know they're just diamonds
come to adorn my new gown.
Every new day I find in my closet
a gown waiting patiently to be worn,
but first it has to be finished up,
and embellished before it can be worn.
I'll take these raindrops that are my diamonds
and sew them all over with care,
and take some ribbons from the clouds in the sky
to sew round the hem with such care.
I'll borrow some silvery notes from the birds
they've tossed them out into the sky;
and flowers hidden that haven't bloomed yet;
like bows on the skirt I will tie.
Then I will don my lovely new dress,
and wear it to come and meet you;
and bring you the wonder I have in my heart,
wrapped up in the words "I LOVE YOU!"
The dress simply stands for all the feelings
that fill my heart when I think of you;
the joy and the music, the beauty we share,
every day our love grows ever more true!
Every day I will dance to the music
that only can be heard with the heart,
and you will always be my dance-partner
forever together, never apart!
I love to look forward to each new day
when I know exactly what I will do,
I'll thank God forever for making the music,
and for giving me the joy of loving you!
