Keep on Moving Forward

I wanted to talk with you about something that I know all of us face. And to be honest I think it is one of the main reasons that we waiver in faith and sometimes even stop right where we are in our walk. ‘Fear.’

I believe fear is one tool that the enemy has mastered to keep Gods people from fulfilling their destinies. Fear comes in various shapes and sizes. Remember as a child you heard about the boogie man? Well I believe as adults we still deal with that boogie man. Things were afraid of. Whether it be a fear of failure, a fear of rejection, or fear of death. The list goes on and on.

But, God says He does not give a spirit of fear. So if it doesn’t come from Him, then we know where it comes from. Fear is a horrible tool that keeps us in bondage and keeps us from moving forward. When your walking in fear your not walking in boldness. Your not taking your rightful place in the kingdom as a child of God.

I have had to deal with all these fears at various times in my walk, and still struggle from time to time. The enemy knows if he can keep us in a spirit of fear he can keep us complacent instead of taking the next step forward, he can keep us quiet when we should be speaking up, he can keep us in such a fear of dying that were never truly living.

God said He came to give us life and to give it to us more abundantly. Only God knows the day or the hour we leave this earth. No Doctor can give us an expiration date. The fear of rejection can come from various people in our lives. From family, from peers and even from strangers.

When people start talking bad about us we need to remember that they are just words. We need to remember who we are in Christ and disregard anything negative. Sadly, some of us walk around in such fear, we are afraid to offend anyone, so we don’t speak up when we need to. We compromise our character just to please people. We need to understand that we only have one person we need to please and that is God.

Unfortunately people are going to talk about us with or without our permission. Often times it is the people that we care about that hurt us the most. People we have invested our lives into that turn on us. Many people expect grace to be given to them when they make a mistake but they themselves are not forgiving if we make a mistake or say the wrong thing.

We need to stand firm and except the fact that we cant please everyone, and if people are giving you a hard time or you have been hurt by them, then just decide that you are going to move on with or without them, but you are moving forward. Trust God to get you through and trust in the fact that you have a great purpose in Him.

Remember that the enemy doesn’t attack what he is not threatened by. So if you are under attack, stand strong and don’t give up, there are greater things ahead that have yet to be revealed. Your best days are still ahead of you.

Be Blessed and Be Encouraged.
