Pharaoh was an accurate type of the enemy and he desperately wanted to keep the Hebrew slaves as busy as possible, so that they would not have the time or the energy for anything else worthwhile.
To accomplish this end, he appointed two overseers and at this moment in time, there may also be two forces incessantly driving us forward, Mr I need to be-faithful and Mr no one else can do it!
In line with His word to Abraham in [Genesis 15], God was aware that the appointed time of deliverance for His people was imminent. Therefore, He dispatched Moses and Aaron with the express purpose of taking them away from Egypt and into the desert, where they would be able to offer sacrifices.
Why sacrifices? If we were to take stock of our time and our labours we might discover that some of the things that consume most of our time and energy might be spiritual and yet, they leave us feeling washed up and without the necessary energy and grace for all the other important tasks.
The time of our deliverance is drawing near, therefore, we need to make more time available to worship and listen to Him and after a few days, in their case, three, there was a distinct and very evident gap between being slaves to man-made burdens and faithful servants of the spiritual.
