Imagine a World Without Imagination!

And God said, “Let there be light!” And there was light – white on one side and black on the other. God said, “Let there be water above and below with a space in between!” And a sandwich of blue buns with an empty space appeared. God said, “Let dry land appear and let plants grow!” So an island of sand appeared and coconut trees grew up on it. God said, “Let there be lights in the sky!” And a 40 watt light bulb appeared. God said, “Fill the water and sky with life!” And the water was filled with guppies and the sky with seagulls. God said, “Let the earth be filled with animals!” And the earth was filled with dogs. Then God said, “Let us make man!” And he made man. Plans for the woman were scrapped because that would be FAR too complex!
Can you imagine???
Our God is a God of creativity and imagination! Have you ever noticed the intricate detail of a butterfly? Think about the beautiful rose – how many different varieties of roses can there possibly be? Look, through a telescope, out to the farthest reaches of outer space. Why would God create all that out there when we can’t get there anyway? What about all the creatures that live in the depths of the ocean – rarely, if ever, seen by man! Think of the wild flowers in hidden fields, and the sunsets painted across desert sands and snowy, mountain peaks alike.
Consider the crowning glory of God’s creation – the human being! We all have two eyes, one nose, one mouth, two ears and most of us have at least some hair on a semi-ball shaped head. How many different variations of the same theme can there be? Never mind faces – a God who goes through the trouble to individualize each person’s fingerprint in minute detail …. What an amazing God!
Are you bored with your life? Are your tired of the ‘same old, same old’? Try to get out for a walk today and look around you. If you live in a large city, find a green park somewhere. If you are desperate, watch the nature channel on T.V. and turn off the volume. “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.” (Ps. 19:1-4)
The God of originality and imagination calls out to you, today, to participate in his creativity. Allow your imagination to flow free! Let nature inspire you to declare the glory of God in your own way! “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.” (Ps. 19:14)

This reminded me of my drawing. I noticed when I draw faces, that even when I try, no two faces ever come out the same, and it reminded me of God. When He creates each one of us, we are all unique, none of us are like another.
