And the Lord
blessed the latter days
of Job.......
[Job 42:12]
****************************
"Lord?"
"Yes, child."
"I don't understand this, Lord."
"What, My child."
"Why did You give Job
so many CAMELS, at the
end of this Story?"
"Read It, child."
"Yeah, here It is:
....he had fourteen thousand sheep,
six thousand camels,
a thousand yoke of oxen,
and a thousand [lady] donkeys.
[Job 42:12]
That's a lot of camels, Lord."
[SOLEMN NOD.]
"And, why didn't You give
him any MALE donkeys?"
[LAUGH.]
"Because, child!"
"I have to admit, I don't
know anything about this
farming stuff."
"Yes, My precious."
"What do 'ya DO with
6,000 camels, anyway,
Lord?"
[SMILE.]
"What do camels EAT,
anyhow?"
[PATIENT SMILE.]
"And Ya' know, Lord,
that isn't true about
camels not needing to
drink. Remember that
camel I saw at the
Washington D.C. zoo,
and he kept
slurping from that
big tub'a WATER?
And next to
his tub, was a big
sign explaining
about his HUMPS?"
"Yes, My precious."
"Maybe, camels in our
nation's capital just
get thirstier, Lord."
[PATIENT NOD.]
"Maybe, it's because
they have 'ta listen
to all those politicians.
They're just trying 'ta
quell their indigestion."
"Perhaps, My precious."
"Sorry, Lord. You
know I never talk 'ta
You about politics."
[SMILE.]
"Never, child?"
"That's right, Lord.
I always heard we
should never talk
to You about three
subjects: sex, religion,
and politics."
"Where did you hear
that, My child?"
"I don't know, Lord.
Maybe, it was on TV."
[VERY PATIENT NOD.]
"Ah. Yes."
"So, Lord..........
who d'Ya think's
gonna be the next
6,000 camels in
Washington, D.C.?"
"That is not a mystery,
My precious."
"NO?"
"No, child.
Not to Me."
******************************
He had also seven sons
and three daughters......
And in all the land
there were no women
so fair as Job's daughters.....
And after this
Job lived a hundred and forty
years, and saw his sons,
and his sons' sons,
four generations.
And Job died, and old man,
and full of days.
[Job 42:13-17]
