God is Your Father

"And call no man your father upon the earth: for ONE is YOUR Father, which is in heaven."
-Matthew 23:9

Now before you misunderstand where this is going, this verse is not trying to say we should not call our biological father, father! The way Jesus was using the word "father" was being applied as a title that the religious leaders in his time and now currently by Catholic priests (falsely) use to edify themselves and make themselves seem important.

Now look at the last part of the verse, "...for one is YOUR Father, which is in heaven."
All born again believers have a biological earthly father. BUT our one true Father is God who is in heaven! In fact, God himself reveals that men and women believers are his sons and daughters:

"And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty." (1 Corinthians 6:18)

Just think of that fellow believers, the Lord God Almighty, Jehovah Shalom is your Father who from heaven looks down upon you, watching you and caring for you! Knowing what you need before you even ask it, God loves each of us with no respect to persons, that is not favoring one ABOVE another!

Numerous times Jesus says that God is our Father and his Father! Look at John 20:17, "...I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God."

Now as the temple of the living God, we have the Holy Ghost (God) inside of us, whom we receive when we trust in Jesus as our Saviour by faith. Check out 2 Corinthians 6:16:

"...I will dwell IN them, and walk IN them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people."

Fellow believers, we have the greatest Father one could ever even try to hope for in our God the Father! ONLY, only, only God cares and loves us like he does...PERIOD!

No human father no matter how much they try could come as close as God's love for us! God is not just "a" father he is THE Father! There are dozens of times where Jesus uses the words, "your Father" to show us believers that God is our Father! God our Father was our father before we knew our biological father, for he formed us in our mother's womb.

Scripture tells us that God our Father knew us before we were even born. Look at Jeremiah 1:4-5:

"Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations."

He loved us before we came out of our mother's womb. He made us for a purpose and to have a purpose in life. Read Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."

So you see, God our Father did not just make us for the heck of it and let us lose on the earth and watch us stumble about. He made us to one day have a life through Christ Jesus his ONLY begotten Son and to have life in him abundantly. God wants everyone to be saved and his message of salvation in Jesus goes out among the populace, but not everyone will receive it and Jesus! Only born again believers in Jesus Christ will be in heaven forever; not people who are JUST good and sincere or kind and nice.

I am not trying to be insensitive in that last statement but that is basic Biblical teaching! If you deny that basic truth, and you are a professing believer, than you had better pray to God and ask him to show you the truth through his Word. The Holy Spirit WILL convict you and any believer of false belief and false teaching and hopefully you will listen to him and search for the truth in the Word of God-the King James Version Bible!

I'm asking every believer through this article, by the Holy Spirit, please don't ever lose sight, drift away from or forget that God your Father TRULY does love you! Yes I know life can get rough at times and doubt can creep in whether God is looking out for you. But that is the voice of Satan seeping and oozing and slithering around inside your brain. He loves to create doubt in our minds in regards to God's mercy and love.

I know it's easy for me to say not to let Satan beat you down, but don't! Let God's Word build you up and then give God the glory!

"The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen." (2 Corinthians 13:14)

God Bless!

It is interesting Jesus said in John 14:9.. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Jesus did not say you seen someone LIKE his Father..but in fact that you saw THE father.. when we believe on Jesus..we do not actually believe on him..but rather on HIM who was inside the body of Jesus.. John 12:44-45- Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me. 1 Tim 3:16 declares God was manifested in flesh... 1 Cor 8:6- But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. This last scripture tells us there is One God The Father..and we also know this one God who is the Father was manifested in flesh.. Jesus asked the disciples..Who do men say that I am..and I will ask who do YOU say that He is?..I believe the scriptures just told us..God the Father so loved this world that He manifested himself in a human body to shed innocent blood to save mankind..
