Wow, another year here and gone. I know we say it every year, but truly where does the time go? As I look back on last years events I am both surprised and amazed. A lot happened. As I am sure that wonderful and even sad things happened to you as well. Now maybe some of you just had a heck of a go at 07. Maybe things just didn’t go as planned. Loss of a job, a house or even loved ones can set us back a few steps and bring us into a circle of despair. Trust me, I had my share of trials this year as well, so I can relate.
However, I have learned that it all works it self out in the end, even though we cant see the bigger picture. We get through it and often times we come out stronger because of it. Without trials and tribulation we don’t have the capacity to learn faith. After all why would we need faith when everything is going so well? Its during those trials that our faith is tested and also built.
During some alone time with the Lord, He began to reveal to me that I needed to step out more in Faith and begin to believe Him for bigger and even greater things. Which makes sense, after all we serve a great big God. Basically He was telling me that I needed to believe for things so big that only He could provide. No man or woman could give it to me, no amount of money could buy it for me not even my own faith or persistence could obtain it.
So on New Years Eve right before midnight my church family and I made a list of great and wonderful things we were believing God for in 08. That way we can sit back and reflect next year on all the wonderful things God did for us this year.
So I am suggesting the same thing for you. Despite your current situation or financial status. Make a list of all the things that you would like God to do for you this year. And don’t be shy, what ever it is right it all down, after all He already knows your thinking about it. Remember that where you are right now in your life does not determine where you are going to end up.
Maybe you need a great paying job with benefits. Maybe your in debt up to you eyeballs and your robbing Peter to pay Paul. Maybe you need a home or you need help recovering from some addiction. Or maybe its even more serious and you need a miracle. You need divine healing for you or a loved one. Whatever you need, God already knows it.
So begin this year by building your faith and trusting God to do what He already wants to do. See I have heard people in despair say why doesn’t he do something? Well truth is He gave us all a choice to believe in Him or not. So whatever we decide he will respect our decision.
So if your not believing in Him then He isn’t going to force himself on you. He is a gentleman. But when You ask Him into you heart and believe in Him for the things you need He will gladly step in and help. So begin this year by believing God for great things. Trust me you wont be disappointed when you put you faith in Him. Be blessed and be encouraged.
