Encouragement
1) Never again will I say 'I can't'.....
because "I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me!" (Phil.4:13)
2) Never again will I confess lack.....
for "My God shall supply all my needs according to His Riches in Glory" (Phil. 4:19)
3) Never again will I fear for....
"God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and a sound mind and love"
(II Tim. 1:7)
4) Never again will I doubt and lack faith for....
"God gives to everyone a measure of Faith" (Romans 12:3)
5) Never again will I lack strength for....
"The Lord is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalms 27:1)
6) Never again will I live a defeated life for.....
"Thanks be to God Who gives us the Victory via the Lord Jesus Christ" (II Cor. 2:14)
7) Never again will I lack wisdom for James I:5 says:
"If anyone lack wisdom, ask of God and receive".
8) Never again will I feel condemnation for the past for Romans 8:1 says:
"There is now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus..
and walk according to the Spirit and not the flesh"
9) Never again will I bring up old sins (nor regrets) for God has cast all of them into His Sea of Forgetfulness and remembers them against us no more!
(Psalms 103:12; Jeremiah 31:34 and Isaiah 43:25)
10) Never again will I doubt that I'm saved for....
"God's Spirit bears witness with our spirits that we are the children of God"
(Romans 8 :16)
11) Never again will I say "I'm bored" for God's Wonders are all around (and within) us!
There are people who love us....and God loves us and He gives live abundant.
(John 15: 9-13)
12) Never again will I say "I don't know the way"....
for Jesus is THE WAY, THE TRUTH and THE LIFE. (John 14:6). Psalms 119:105 says: "Thy Word is a Lamp unto my feet and a Light unto my path."
I realize that these 'resolves' sound impossible in our minds and in the flesh...
but they are goals for us to strive to reach.
On a personal note, there will be times (such as the 7 month valley I went through this year) when due to waning physical conditions, 'fear' can creep in.
La Moyne has also experienced difficult times when discouragement has surfaced...
but with God's help, we've come through on the other side of those challenges.
I wanted to share these GOALS for 2008 in hopes that we can all be strengthened.

What do we have in Christianity that is not found anywhere else? We have Christ!
When we don't have Christ, we lack Christianity's Supreme Necessity!
Please remember that Jesus by His Life...
Death on The Cross...
and sending The Holy Spirit....
underlines all the Promises as TRUE and NECESSARY to live the Victorious Christian life.
Writer Rich Knight shared this from a Christmas card that he (and we) received:
"The Word did NOT become:
Philosophy...Theory...nor Concept...
to be discussed, debated nor pondered.
But The Word DID became a Person (Jesus) to be:
experienced...
followed...
enjoyed...
loved...
and shared!"
Tennyson said, "Christ is to us what sunshine is to the flowers".
Clement of Alexandria said, "Jesus turns our sunsets into sunrises".
I like the statement that "Jesus is JOY....Jesus and you and nothing in-between".
As we think about New Year's Resolutions, let's make resolves that are quoted in the old Hymn, "I Am Resolved".
"I am resolved no longer to linger,
Charmed by the world’s delight,
Things that are higher, things that are nobler,
These have allured my sight.
Chorus:
I will hasten to Him, hasten so glad and free;
Jesus, greatest, highest, I will come to Thee.
I will hasten, hasten to Him, hasten so glad and free;
Jesus, Jesus, Greatest, Highest, I will come to Thee.
I am resolved to go to the Savior,
Leaving my sin and strife;
He is the true One, He is the just One,
He hath the words of life.
I am resolved to follow the Savior,
Faithful and true each day;
Heed what He sayeth, do what He willeth,
He is the Living Way.
I am resolved to enter the Kingdom
Leaving the paths of sin;
Friends may oppose me, foes may beset me,
Still will I enter in.
I am resolved, and who will go with me?
Come, friends, without delay,
Taught by the Bible, led by the Spirit,
We’ll walk the Heav’nly way."
