Not a Temporary Comfort

I had a dream last night in which I was speaking to a woman about the Lord.
What stuck out to me was the message it brought to put me in remembrance of how precious this life with the Lord is, and to share with others the difference between a message and bringing a message about a life.
I was saying to her that we have more than just “comfort” from knowing the Lord, but we have in us, the Comforter.
I thought on this quick dream sequence and thought how the Lord had come to not only give us the healing of the moment, more than a temporary comfort of the moment or for a little while, or a season, but came to give to us a life with Him.
We aren't preaching a gospel of a quick fix, though knowing the Lord brings relief to our troubled souls, and healing to all our wounds.
We are bringing the Gospel of telling people about a Person, the Lord Jesus, who will be with us forever.
He came to give to us Himself.
He came to give us life and life abundantly and it is His life that is in us. It is His life in which we have a relationship with Him.
He is here with us and promises us to be with us forever. Never leaving us or forsaking us.
When I think of people not knowing the Lord Jesus the one thing that sticks out and hurts my heart for them is that they do not know Him.
In lonliness, they are in darkness and despair. In trial they are in pain and without hope. And though we feel these things, too, at times, there is always hope, always bearing in us trials, but with the hope of Jesus. Always able to look to Him.
Not in a tempory thing, but in His own person and life in us.
He is our end. And though He is so good and loves all that He died for and He died for all, and is there for everyone to call on, to know Him is to know Him with us in everything always.
This is the heart cry I feel for all people, that they know the Lord Jesus. God so loved the world that He gave to us His only begotten Son that whoever would believe in Him, would not perish, but have everlasting life.
This is the Good News of the Gospel. It is Jesus Christ, born, died on a cross taking our sins upon Himself to that cross, and rising by the Power of God to life Everlasting, Lord of Lords and King of Kings.
And He has given us, that we might come to Him, believe in Him,and through Him, know His Father, and have life and life everlasting, and to receive His Holy Spirit.
He will be with us forever.
He will help us in everything to follow Him.
And we can live each and every day of our lives walking with Him, talking to Him.
Knowing His Father in Heaven, our Father, in a new and wonderful way with the life that He has given to us through His Son, Jesus.
That life that is Jesus’ life now living in us.
We are born again. Born from above, no longer born from below. A new citizenship in Heaven. Born into a new life. A brand new life.
The old things are truly passed away, and behold all things are made new.
We who were sinners as scarlet, now, washed white as snow by the Blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ, that was shed for us and the remission of our sins.
We are made new.
To walk in new life with Him.
He did all that was needed, and all we need to do is believe in Him and follow Him.
And through Him, and His life in us, we become by looking to Him, overcomers of all things, because He overcame all things.
We can truly walk in new life with our Lord.
Will it get hard? Yes, it is promised. Is that bad? No. It is more precious than gold these trials we go through. They use to cause destruction, and now they give us to live an overcoming life following our Lord.
It is not a rose garden on earth. But it is a smell of a new life in Jesus Christ where we now live in Him.
Old things are passed away, behold all things are made new.
It is a new life in Him.
And yes, we will suffer trials and all kinds of things in this walk on this earth but he is always with us. We can hold on to Him and we have precious promises of life everlasting in Him that means a whole lot more than what we go through here.
And others will come to know Him also. We can ask for our family and tell them about the Lord, that they too might come to know Him in a new life. Following Him.
He isn’t a story, He is a life. He is alive. They too can have a new life through Him. And know Him, and love Him, and follow Him forever.
We can share Him with others as we are commanded to do. That they too might live and know our precious Savior as their own precious Savior.
We have a place in Heaven for us that He prepares. As those who went before, we look to a home in heaven with our Lord.
All that we go through here, we know will be worth it all for this is a moment in time, and in Heaven with Jesus it is an Eternity.
Precious promises await us there, as they do here also. Let us press on to know Him more and more. And to follow Him. To follow Him is to know life Everlasting.
It is like this. I have come to Jesus and so I can pray for someone to be healed. To have their marriage healed. For whatever ends the pain that we are experiencing in our life here. He does those things for us when we ask. But it is more than asking for this need or that need, there are many needs. And we can always ask and He wants us to ask. But it is more than all of this, even. It is coming to know Him, the absolute end all of all our needs. Life in Him. Knowing Him.
Let us Lord, by our witness of You, bring others to know You, to be the train that fills the temple, and all in it cry Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord!
