And God said
Let there be lights
in the firmament of the
heavens to separate
the day
from the night;
and let them be
for signs
and for seasons
and for days
and years.....
[Genesis 1:14]

"Lord?"
"Yes, child?"
"I was thinking;
if I had been born
in Antarctica,
I never would have
heard about You."
[LAUGH!]
"Seriously!
But, then I guess I would've
been a penguin."
"Yes, child."
"I wish I HAD been
a penguin; then,
I wouldn't have
to think about
New Year's Eve."
[PATIENT SILENCE.]
"Plus, I would've
been cuter."
"Yes, My precious."
"See? You agree!"
[SMILE.]
(silence)
"How am I gonn'a
get through this, Lord?"
"With Me, child."
"Yeah. I guess so."
[SILENCE.]
(silence)
"I remember, when I
was a kid, sittin'
on the couch with
my dad, watching the
ball drop."
"Yes, child."
(silence)
"I think the best
year was l969;
we sat up all
night, waitin' for
them to land on
the moon."
[NOD.]
"It wasn't them
landing on the moon,
Lord, that was so
great."
"No, My child."
"It was waitin' up
for it, with my dad.
Remember when
we opened the front
door, so as' we could
see outside, and the
big moon up there,
through the screen door?"
"Yes, child.
I remember."

And God said
let there be light,
and there was light.
