Christmas proves that God is a 'Promise Keeping God'.
God's Faithfulness and Our Faith can be an unbeatable combination.
His Faithfulness is such a blessing for each day and every day...
and His Faith in us helps us to claim the blessings.
Here are some key Scriptures on the Faithfulness of God:
Galatians 4: 4-7:
"When the fulness of time had come, God sent forth His Son, made of a woman,
made under the law to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons! And because you are sons, God sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying 'Abba, Father'. Therefore you are no more a servant, but a son...
an heir of God through Christ."
However, being one of God's children, we should WANT to serve.
"Know certainly that the Lord thy God is a faithful God Who keeps covenant and mercy with you, that love Him and He will keep you forever".
I Kings 8:56:
"There has not (nor will there) fail one of God's Promises."
"Thy mercy O Lord is in the Heavens and Thy Faithfulness reaches unto the clouds."
I Cor. 1:9:
"God is faithful, by Whom we are called into the fellowship of His Son...
Jesus Christ our Lord."
When I met La Moyne, she was memorizing Scripture, using Scripture cards.
The one that she was memorizing at that time was I Corinthians 10:13.
"There hath no temptation taken you but such is common to man, but God is faithful and will not suffer you to be tempted above that you are able. God will with the temptation also make a way to escape that you may be able to bear it."
Jesus is The Way, The Truth and The Life....
and our faith in Christ is The Victory that Overcomes the world!
II Thess. 3:3:
"The Lord is faithful and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one."
II Tim. 2:13:
"When we are faith-less, God will remain faithful for He can not deny Himself".
"Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering, for God is Faithful Who promised."
"By two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure".
Ephesians 2: 8-10:
"By Grace are we saved, through Faith and that not of ourselves, but it is a Gift of God."
Because God is good and faithful to us, we need to make His FAITHFULNESS (and all the blessings thereby) known to all generations!
Christmas and New Years are times for renewing (and making new) commitments.
1) Like Mary-
Total commitment to God which brought about the Miracle of God.
2) Like Joseph -
Who trusted and obeyed, thereby becoming part of the Miracle of God.
3) Like Jesus -
Who at the age of 11 said, "I must be about my Father's business."
The great tenor Pavarotti (who recently died) was praised by someone who said,
"God has surely kissed your voice."
Pavarotti replied, "No, God has kissed my soul".
Likewise our Faith in Christ must go deeper...by believing in the Faithfulness of God.
Please receive ALL that God wants to give you...
and use ALL for His Glory...
and for the sake of others.
So many things today are temporary...soon outdated or replaced.
Jesus (and what we do for Him) is NOT temporary, outdated nor needing to be replaced.
A saying that La Moyne and I learned from our parents was:
"This life will soon be past....and only what's done for Christ will last".
The words to these 2 old hymns ministered many times to the both of us...
so we've been saddened to find they're not included in many Hymnals now.
Those hymns are: "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" and "Have Faith in God".
"Great Is Thy Faithfulness"
Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be.
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!
Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.
Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

"Have Faith in God"
Have faith in God when your pathway is lonely.
He sees and knows all the way you have trod;
Never alone are the least of His children;
Have faith in God, have faith in God.
Have faith in God when your prayers are unanswered,
Your earnest plea He will never forget;
Wait on the lord, trust His word and be patient,
Have faith in God. He'll answer yet.
Have faith in God in your pain and your sorrow,
His heart is touched with your grief and despair;
Cast all your cares and your burdens upon Him,
And leave them there, oh, leave them there.
Have faith in God though all else fall about you;
Have faith in God, He provides for His own:
He cannot fail though all kingdoms shall perish.
He rules. He reigns upon His throne.
Have faith in God, He's on His throne,
Have faith in God, He watches over His own;
He cannot fail, He must prevail,
Have faith in God, Have faith in God.
