I pray that there are no born again believers watching Oprah's show. She claims to have been raised in a Baptist home, but has never received Jesus as her Saviour. In actuality, she is a staunch advocate of the New Age movement and of mysticism and enlightenment. Jesus to her and all the New Age guests she has on her show is NOT the true Jesus of the Bible!
In fact, she has openly denied that Jesus (of the Bible) is the ONLY way to heaven! See this video clip:
She holds the minds of millions of women in her hands, espousing her occult garbage to her audience every week. Guest after guest is a New Age, New Thought, occult, or Mind Science guru. Countless times she makes statements about God that are contrary to the Bible, even though she admits she reads the Bible. She stated this one time, "God manifests himself-herself-itself through your breath through your conscience and through your intuition. And as long as you have that, you have the presence of God and you also have power."
This is heresy! Even though she claims she reads the Bible, it clearly is just a bunch of stories to her. Jesus said God is a Spirit, yet always rendered in a masculine tense as he is God the Father, our maker.
Consider the following about her interaction between herself and a guest named Eric Butterworth:
"Oprah on her show with various representatives of the New Age movement has promoted the New Age concept of godhood. To sum this all up she referred to a book by Butterworth...Oprah Winfrey states, "One of the most important books I have read in my life is a book by Butterworth, Discover the Power Within You, and what Eric Butterworth says in that book is that Jesus did not come to teach how divine he was but came to teach us there was divinity within us, so that is essentially what we are offering. Oprah further comments, "but isn't essentially the New Age movement in all that I've read in the Aquarian Conspiracy isn't it just spiritual evolvement isn't it coming closer to the FORCE THAT IS GOD WHETHER YOU CALL IT GOD OR NOT, ISN'T THAT WHAT IT IS?"
Curtis responds, "Well it is dealing with ultimate reality, the force the infinite intelligence, endeavoring to find out what we really are."
Butterworth was a Unity teacher. He was Senior Minister of The Unity Center of New York City from 1961 to 2003 when he died. He was the author of 16 best-selling books on metaphysical spirituality, and a respected New Age pioneer and innovator of New Thought.
So for Oprah, God is a "force" huh? That's what Jehovah's Witnesses say the Holy Spirit is, just an impersonal force. Blasphemy!
Here is a quote from Butterworth's book, "Discover the Power Within You."
"We must begin to see Jesus as the great discoverer of the innate Divinity of Man, the supreme revealer of the truth about man, the pioneer and way-shower." He also said this about Jesus, "Fundamentalists believe Jesus was God becoming man. I believe that Jesus was man becoming God."
He clearly does not understand the true Biblical Jesus Christ! The New Age Christ, which is separate from the human Jesus, is a force that can be in anyone. Gnosticism says that only the human Jesus died on the cross while the Christ, spiritual force departed and returned as the resurrected being. Matter to Gnostics was evil and therefore they deny Jesus as God incarnate, God manifest in the flesh.
"Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and DOCTRINES OF DEVILS." (1 Timothy 4:1)
I am not afraid to NOT be P.C. and say that these people, Oprah included have devils in them and that is who is creating and espousing these doctrines. In January 2008, these devils will have a new audience to reach out to...the XM Satellite Radio audience. Starting January 1 (presumably) the show "Oprah & Friends" will begin where it will offer a year-long course on the New Age teachings of a book called "A Course in Miracles." Throughout the course over 365 days, you will be told to affirm that God is in everything you see and to believe that your salvation comes through you. The course will be taught by Marianne Williamson, one of today's premier New Age leaders.
The book "A Course in Miracles" is fast becoming the New Age Bible and teaches that through the New Age "Jesus" there is a new revelation to be had. It was written by a medical psychology professor at Columbia University named Helen Schucman, who claimed she received the details of the future book by way of an "inner voice" calling itself "Jesus."
The following are quotes from the "Jesus" of "A Course in Miracles."
"There is no sin; a slain Christ has no meaning; the journey to the cross should be the last useless journey; the recognition of God is the recognition of yourself."
The "Jesus" of "A Course in Miracles" is a huge imposter, blaspheming the holy name of Jesus Christ! In actuality, it is a devil (if not operated by more than one) teaching these heresies! Marianne Williamson, who is the author of "A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles", appeared on Oprah's show, which catapulted her book to the top of the New York Times bestseller list. Oprah loved the book so much that she bought a thousand copies and passed them around to everyone in the studio audience. How nice! (I say that jokingly if you couldn't tell!)
Listeners of the XM Radio show are encouraged to buy "A Course in Miracles", which is also available on CD. All of this is setting the stage for the New Gospel, New Age Christ to fill the world with mind-numbing heresies. Oprah is willingly leading the way using her show as an outlet.
Born again believers, I urge you to stand up against this blasphemy and not give one second of viewing time to Oprah and find a way to voice your thoughts about these things!
Be sure to check out the video clip of her denying our Lord and Saviour. It is incredible!
