"Peace I leave with you, MY peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

"And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you."

There is only one type of peace that eternally sustains those who are born again believers...Jesus' peace! He says he gives an entirely different peace than the world does. The peace of the world comes and goes, it never lasts. On the occasions that Jesus came to the Apostles after the resurrection, he told them, "Peace be unto you." He said that three times to them.
Now look at John 16:33, "These things I have spoken unto you, that IN ME ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."
Again, there is only true peace found in Jesus Christ. In the world we will endure hardships and tribulation! There is joy, peace and contentment in him. Though at times the world shakes us up quite a bit and our faith is tested each day, the Holy Spirit prays for us when we don't know what to pray!
Resting in the peace of Jesus though gives us encouragement to prevail and as Jesus overcame the world, we have too! Remain true to God's Word fellow believers and rest in the peace of Jesus!
