Everywhere people are searching. Everywhere the hunt for contentment is on and everywhere people are turning up empty.
The scholar hits the books. The politician starts a campaign. The mother turns to her children and the addict to his drug. They are trying to make earthly solutions the answer to a heavenly question. They search through earth below and sky above but still they have no answer.
“What am I living for?” This question echoes through the history of man. Every soul has asked, and all have found that the answer is not within their grasp. But just as it seems all hope is lost. Just as the last defense has fallen, a Savior appears. For all who look into His love filled eyes, hope is reborn. Out of the cold ashes of your heart He rekindles a spark of eternity; in that eternity our hope is placed.
No, this earth does not hold contentment. It is not intended to. Our peace comes from the knowledge of eternity and hope of the everlasting embrace of our savior.
