What does Jesus see as He looks down upon His church? Does He see His church glorifying God to the fullest, with love and devotion throughout the family of God? Or, does He see discontentment over issues that could be resolved if His people
would just be in complete agreement, or at least meet each other half way by compromising.
1 Corinthians 1: 10, says, "I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought."
Paul gives the church at Corinth a very clear and precise plan, a Godly plan that Jesus would welcome with open arms.
What must Jesus think when the desires of a few people are totally ignored by another group within the church, sometimes causing a split within the church. Does this make Him sad, or does He become angered?
Romans 12:10 says: Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.
This scripture should be observed whenever and wherever God's people come together.
Is Jesus happy when Romans 12:10 is also obeyed? Yes, I think He is extremely happy. Not only is Jesus happy, but I am quite sure that the angels rejoice.
If each one of us could only live by God's word, wouldn't issues in every church be less complicated? Think about it!
Don't just read God's word, LIVE IT !!!!
Philippians 2:5-11 says,
Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus.
Who, being in very nature
God,
did not consider equality with
God something to be
grasped,
but made himself nothing,
taking the very nature of a
servant,
being made in human
likeness.
And being found in appearance as
a man,
he humbled himself
and became obedient to
death --
even death on a cross.
Therefore God exalted him to
the highest place
and gave him the name that is
above every name;
that at the name of Jesus every
knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and
under the earth,
and every tongue confess that
Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father..
Let each one of us, in every church throughout the world, remember to give God the glory. Then when Jesus looks down upon His Church, He will be delighted with what He sees.
