Rocky is past his prime. WAY past his prime. He can’t skip rope anymore, but he still feels the draw of the lights, the crowd, the sweat, the thrill of victory. But no one will fight him and everyone would beat his frail body to a pulp. Rocky needs a bout, he needs to beat up on an old man.
But how can he do so and still remain lovable and sympathetic and “America’s Boxing Hero”? The Italian Stallion gets a lesson in life and perseverance from Tiny Tim, and goes back into training with the ghost of Jacob Marley as his trainer (Played by Danny DeVito) to take on the dreaded and hated Scrooge, the perfect villain old-man contender. It’s a twelve round slugfest and Rocky gets a good old fashioned Victorian horsewhipping from Scrooge.
Will he let Tiny Tim down and succumb to defeat? Will “America’s Boxing Hero” finally go down in disgrace? Find out in Scrooge IX: Scrooge v. Rocky, the Smackdown!
