Time is a vicious beast,
tearing asunder all who do not hear
her territorial cry of inevitability.
She is a twisted joker, playing cruel tricks
when they are least amusing.
She is also a gentle lover,
caressing those who accept
her healing certainties,
massaging life's most painful events
until they mellow into mere memories.
Ah! but more than this! Time is as long
or short
as she needs to be to accomplish her own ends.
Don't fear her or she will cease to exist for you
in a heartbeat.
Never insult her by delaying decisions
for she can only serve you until the day you die.
Then she will abandon you,
left standing alone to explain your choices
to her older brother,
Eternity.

In this world of 'time management', 'time on the clock', deadlines, pressure, 'gotta get it done on time'--this is an apt reminder that Time is just part of a larger family! Excellent, 'timely', and to-the-point.
