Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord

Nov 11, 2005
By: Rick L. King

Isaiah 40:3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

John 1:23 He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.

Eph 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

We as children of God, have been raised up and made to sit in heavenly places with Christ. This is a positional place given to us by God because of what Jesus did for us. Often times we approach God from a position on earth, instead of a position given to us which is one of authority. God gave Adam dominion over the earth. Adam sinned and gave this dominion over to the devil. Once we are born again, we now have our dominion back, through the blood of Christ.

We are told to prepare the way of the Lord. God desires to pour out many blessings on His people. Scripturally these blessings were provided to us because of Jesus and His dying on the cross for our sin. Some of these promises are:

Ps 34:10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.

Mt 6:33 But seek yea first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Eph 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

1 Cor 10:24 Let no one be for ever seeking his own good, but let each seek that of his fellow man (Weymouth trans)

With our dominion, we are required to prepare the way of the Lord. Our dominion requires us to do battle with the enemy that Adam gave the world to. We must possess our land back from the devil. Although God desires to bless His people, there are hindrances in the spirit realm that God has given to us as born again believers to battle against. He gave us weapons and authority, though sadly much of the church has failed to take up their weapons and fight. They are still just crying out to God to do something. God already did it! He gave us power through His Holy Spirit to deal with all principalities and powers. We must use this power if we are going to see people set free and enter in to the blessings of God.

God gave to us the keys to the kingdom, just as He gave to Adam. Are we going to use them, or give them back over to the devil? The kingdom of heaven suffers violence and the violent take it by force. This is a spiritual battle that takes spiritual weapons to fight. As warriors, we can change homes, cities, states, and countries, through intercession and warfare.

Mt 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

2Co 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

God gave to us the keys. These keys not only will open up the mysteries of the kingdom, but they will unlock doors that have kept people in spiritual prisons. Keys must be used to be of any good. Laying them on the shelf does nothing. The key must be put into a lock and turned to open anything.

We are seated in heavenly places with Christ; have been given the keys to the kingdom; have been given authority over all the power of the enemy; so what are we going to do with it? We need to use our God given weapons to prepare the way of the Lord. We need to deal with the principalities and powers and rulers of darkness that are blocking the outpouring of Godís Spirit to save, heal, deliver and provide. God has already blessed us yet we must use what He has given to us to possess it in the natural realm.
