Encouragement
GOD IS ALWAYS NEAR
God is so amazing! He’s real! He loves me and He cares about me.
He helps me with everything. Nothing is too small, too insignificant, too large, nor insurmountable.
Just when I think He isn’t listening to my prayers, He surprises me.
There is something that I’ve been praying and praying about for many months. Many lonely months. I know I’ve not really been alone, for He is always with me. Even when I feel He is far away, that’s when He is actually the nearest.
He’s in the shadows. He’s in the moonlight. He’s in the whisper of the trees. He’s in the song of the birds. He’s in the fragrance of the wild roses.
He’s in the sunrise. He’s in the twilight. He’s in the billowy clouds, as well as the swirling, gray, rain-filled clouds. He’s the twinkle in the stars.
He’s the mightiest of the mighty. He’s the meekest of the meek.
He’s my right hand. He’s the light that shines on my pathway. He’s on the pillow that cradles my head at night. He’s in my dreams.
He’s as real as my next breath, each taken for granted. Most times I take Him for granted.
I talk to Him often. He’s the One I can depend on to be there regardless of the hour or the need. He rushes to me, while most times I drag my feet in going to Him.
I work constantly endeavoring to outguess Him. I tell Him what I think He should be doing for me. He tells me to rest in His Presence and His best will unfold before me.
I like to think that I know what is best for me. I tell Him what my dreams and hopes and wants are. He chuckles and replies, “You cannot even imagine the things I have in store for you!”
I have learned that I simply cannot be anything to anyone until I first allow Him to be everything to me. I have learned from my mistakes, but I’m sure that I will make many more as I go along.
I act on impulse and have very little self-control. I try to help God whenever I need something done NOW.
He’s patient enough to let me go my way. How many times do I have to fall before I get the message?
Yet, He’s always been there to doctor the wounds caused by my own stubborn will. He never stops loving me. He never gives up on me. He never forces Himself on me.
He blesses me with many blessings, surprising me occasionally. Recently, I received one of His surprises. It was one that I had been waiting and waiting for. It came when I wasn’t even looking. It came when I was in the midst of my usual busy schedule. It came unplanned by me. It came in His time and in His way. Nothing is better than that!
I now eagerly watch as it unfolds before me. Yes, His way and His timing are the best.
I’m so glad He’s my Heavenly Father. And, it was just like Him to give me this special gift on what better day than “Father’s Day.” That’s my Father for you!
“Our Father, which art in heaven. Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debt, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.”
