The Son I Never Knew
by Irene Allen

Not For Sale

Ahh, such a sad, sad, story,
Needs that go unmet. Desires
that go unfulfilled,
feelings that won't pass.
The son I never knew,
left me .........
with a void as big as Texas,
in the middle of my heart.
Where is my baby ?
my son ?
A man now,
probably with babies of his own,
pondering .......
my Mother, she was wrong.
Left me there, with strangers then,
to bond with one unknown,
to either of us.
The son I never knew,
missed out on a love,
that is instilled into,
the belly and soul of a Mom.
It can not be found in the arms,
of another,
a substitute.
The son I never knew,
has a hole in his heart,
that matches perfectly ......
mine.
When I hold him,
in my arms once again,
the hole will fill in with,
completion.
What more can be said ,
he'll find me one day,
and then I shall be whole.

I loved this poem. And many who made the sad decision will probably love it. it's one of those glorious wounds that we get when we do the Lord's will. And your poem shows it perfectly!
