Christmas is about the birth of Christ,
not about Santa’s list of who’s naughty and nice.
Children need to hear of their need of the Savior,
Not about being good enough to win earthly favors.
Santa promises gifts if we make the right list,
but God delivers, even if we’ve been our worst.
Some people give gifts to receive more in return,
but God’s priceless Gift is one that no one can earn.
God gives the same Gift to all who believe,
and as a result, eternal life they receive.
People spend money and bemoan the great cost,
Forgetting that God’s gift was paid for by blood on a cross.
Celebrate the reason for the season this year,
but pray for those who left what was dear,
like the prodigal son now out on his own,
forgetting the One who is waiting at Home.
If you want to give the gift that really does last,
share the Gospel with a lost soul along your holiday path.
Once they’ve been enlightened with true Christmas cheer,
they’ll want to share their gift with others next year.
