"Atheism and religion"
The current political debates going around our country have to do with religion and its relation to politics. That politicians are being accused of engaging religion in what is considered as shady private MOUs. Is not the crux of the matter, it is the exclusive nature of the Abrahamic faiths teachings and dogma. While real politics takes a life of its own once the competitive stage is in place; the truth is that what we believe or not believe defines us.
Ours is considered as a secular political system, does this mean our leaders need not be religious? Not necessarily so, this is because the need for social cohesion is of paramount importance.
Does being secular necessarily mean disassociation with religion? To a degree, yes and no; the imposition of one beliefs to others is what drives and makes secularism appealing. The secularists having found a middle ground of sorts in secularism have continued to create a world devoid religion other than hedonism. The need for atheism is brought about by the notion that religious beliefs are precursor to intolerance. Of course, church history does not quell failures that have dogged it for centuries.
Atheism is the intellectual negation of truth whose reality is more practical than abstract. The writers of the Death of God, The delusion of God are essentially individuals seeking the truth albeit in a cynical form. They posit theorems based on negative thesis hoping albeit someone will come and lift them up from the abyss hopelessness and emptiness.
Atheism is not limited to religion. It is actually a form of Gnosticism, a knowledge based mystical religious system. When secularized it presents religion as an aberration of intelligence and an embracement of myth and ignorance. It also presumes that religion is especially a fallacy perpetuated by fear of the unknown by the antiquated man.
Scientific atheism and religious atheism are two value systems hinged on projected lifestyles. How one believes is connected to how his or her life is projected. The religious atheists are individuals who confess and even claim that they drink water while they know very well that they drink wine.
On the other hand scientific atheism presupposes that God-thought or God-belief system is practically an aberration of sorts. Why do rational beings seek to rationalize their observations?
Of course, it is interesting to discover that if it were not for technological discoveries we would still believe that viruses and microorganism that cannot be seen with the naked eyes are spirits. Now that technology is with us, we describe the microorganism as just that.
Empiricism as it were is the essence of the current world. This does not mean that there are no pockets of those who still do consider explanations vide pre-industrial constructs.
The challenges posed by the Small-scale societies and the Large-scale societies are essentially based on differing models. These are models that are particular to each background.
Does atheism literally mean that whoever professes that there is no God or a being higher than a human being a disbeliever or an atheist? Probably that is true; but unfortunately it is not as easy as it seems. For instance, Albert Einstein is known for advocating that he did not believe in a God as described by theologies. Yet, he claims that he had experiences while doing his research that made him as it were 'feel' or commune with the presence perceived as God.
Theologies are human attempts at rationalizing the sometime esoteric religious writings. If all the theologies were correct, we would essentially not have the proliferation of the many sects and denominations within each major or minor religions.
Religious atheism is the spiritless religion. It is ritual for rituals sake, it is a faithless ritual that is accompanied with mechanical involvement from individuals and communities.
A few years ago most of our churches were inundated by mystical beliefs that were practically sacred lies that drove people to utopian world.
Currently the church leadership have toned down, and started towards another direction. Materialism has become the God of the age. How much you are endowed with is a benchmark of spirituality. Those not successful are considered as sinners or under achievers.
Atheism is not the denial of a superior being, it is the rationalization of hate, distrust and lie. Atheism is truly the disbelief in truth, and the peddling of lie.
There are many sides to the truth, yet truth remains one. Finiteness is the challenge that faces us. Instead of embracing the challenges that govern finiteness we go as far as rationalizing finiteness.
Religious atheism is a heartless religion governed by ritual and fear. It is the culmination of negation of a moral order that govern the universe. This negation of a moral order creates a vacuum of sorts that drives away fulfillment and purpose.
Religious atheism is a godless values system that dethrones Providence and enthrones reason and individuals. It is what creates monsters of prejudice, intolerance and negativity. Atheism is a valueless paradigm that uses man as the benchmark and here and now being the only reality that is there.
The Living Scripts exhort, 'whoever says there is no God is a fool.' One does not need to say or even claim there is no God. A lifestyle that denies this reality is evidence of the claims against the Omnipotent. (Interactive: firstname.lastname@example.org)
