I once heard a preacher say
To one which wanted to be like him
They desired his position and anointing
Yet they had no concept of where the preacher had been
The preacher told him
Are you willing to walk in shoes I had to walk?
Are you willing to pay the same price?
Or are your words just words of talk?
The deeper we go in Jesus
The deeper our flesh must be crucified
To walk a close walk with Jesus
Takes more than we sometimes realize
The old man must die
Till all that is left is him
No more can we enjoy
Those things called casual sin
Anything that is left
Will at some time cause you pain
As it will separate you from the one that you love
So to keep dying to self, brings great gain
Yet the new place that we find
Walking in His spirit and power
Brings greater joy than anything else
That the world may ever shower
Yes there is a cost
Which many will not ever choose to pay
For to follow Jesus alone
Means death to self and all its selfish ways
The deeper the walk
The deeper we must be crucified
Though the trials are sometimes tough
The end results make all justified
To know His presence
To know His power and love
Is worth giving up everything on earth
Just to walk in the things which are above
To walk a deeper walk
Means there is a price to pay
For to know Jesus and His power
Self must be crucified, all the way.
