God said that He would not allow
Any more than we could take
So when there is a heavy struggle
God will make a way for our escape
When ministering to another
We must learn to give them grace
They can only absorb so much
Truth at their own pace
Though our desire may be right
Hand and hand with Jesus we must go
As the Holy Spirit will never force
A person a truth to know
Sometimes a person is doing wrong
Well at least in our own eyes
But the Holy Spirit says give them grace
Till they can handle truth about satan’s lies
Love does not push itself forward
So our desire though noble we cannot force
So when we lay on them a heavy burden
We just hinder that person’s course
We need to stand back
And remember our own plight
When we wanted to be different
We wanted our life to be right
We had to learn
That until we gave up our control
The Holy Spirit could not work
He could not make the problem go
One of the keys to our success
Is to just learn to pray
And place all our cares in Jesus’ hands
And then go along our way
We must allow the Holy Spirit
The chance to change our heart
It is His work not ours
As He leads we just obediently do our part
Religion will try
To cause a person to change by law
Yet the heart is the problem
So religion will not work at all
It only puts people into bondage
For to be different they know not how
It just makes their struggle greater
As grace we do not allow
We never will be able to conform
To what another thinks should be
Our job is to walk hand and hand with Jesus
Him alone we must please
The Holy Spirit once said if you could save yourself
Then you would not need me
So when you try to deliver and change self
You are acting no differently
The Holy Spirit does the work
It is not the work of you or I
We must learn to just give grace
And on the Holy Spirit timing, just rely
The Old Testament is full
Of many rules and many laws
But remember man could not keep them
Because of their heart flaws
Jesus will keep the law
When in us He is in control
It will no longer be our strength
It will be Jesus in our soul
Just because we are a Christian
Perfect yet we will not be
Change is a daily process
So grace we must give, to you and me
If a church puts you into bondage
And says you have to be a certain way
And they never take you to the throne
And with you never pray
Then this church is walking by the law
It is just a religious sect
It does yet not understand
What Jesus does expect
The way that people change
Comes by a change in the heart
Only when we enter into God's presence
Can the Lord do His part
The only focus that should be
Is to bring God’s Glory down
For when God comes upon the scene
Change and grace will abound
If we want to see the problem go
The struggle we want to be erased
Then we must learn to walk as Jesus
We must learn to just give grace.
