Wherever I go
Whatever I say
Someone is listening
Along the way.
On my walks
Or in my room
There are talks
In secret…
Where prayers
bloom.
Only One knows
All my tears.
Only One removes
My greatest fears.
In secret, my Father
Has heard me-
In the stillness
Where thoughts fly free.
No one but He
is able to see
Where we
Commune
So privately.
I enter my closet
Making the choice
To humbly wait
Upon His voice.
The door is shut
At His command
As He
Opens my mind
To understand.
This closet is secure
And forever mine
Secretly made
By Master design.
Matthew 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
As difficult a point in time as today is for me, I was taken back in time by your poem to a day far, far more difficult. Ten million wonders I survived it. But I recall, while holding on by such a thin thread, singing over and over and over the song, "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. And I will say of the Lord, He is refuge and my fortress. My God, in Him will I trust." I believe I will just sing a while now. It wasn't a time I like to recall, but at this point, I was in need of that reminder. So far behind in my reading, but would you just look at how perfect God's timing is!!! Knowing I am under the shadow of His wing and in His most capable grip, I am strengthened. Thank you, Sis, for so gracefully sharing with us. I will remember you in secret.

Isn't it good to know that we all have a secret place that we can go to communicate with the Lord? Each place is unique... Good poem to remind us of this, Julie. Thanks for sharing. God bless you...Helen
You know, my whole faith journey has been validated in my heart because my most profound moments with God have taken place behind the doors of my own secure closet. Just me and Him being open, honest, faithful and true. We are so very blessed aren't we? Love you and love this :) Blessings, Jody
