We’re All Just A Branches

St. John 15:5 (KJV) “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”
We’re all just branches on God’s tree;
I no better than you, and you no better than me.
So, there is no need to applaud yourself
Believing that you are better or above anyone else
Because in spite of what others may say or do,
As a branch, you still have a little “crook” in you too;
For, I’ve never seen, in all of my days
A branch on a tree or a vine that is completely straight.
Therefore, my brother, don’t put down on the next man
Because he isn’t completely following God’s plan;
For, if the leaves fall, as they eventually do,
It would be found that a little “crook” is in your branch too.
My sister, don’t say how another young lady should be ashamed;
And, don’t look down on her and call her all kinds of names
Because we’re all just branches hanging from God’s tree;
There’s probably a little “crook” in you where we wouldn’t expect it to be.
Oh, Mr. Husband, always in such great need
Because you’re trying so hard to survive and succeed
Until you continue to put down on your wife
Causing her much misery and strife
With the cruel words of criticism that you speak,
Making her feel inadequate and weak
Just because she doesn’t do as you think she should do;
But, you don’t have it all together either because of the little “crook” in you.
Little Mrs. Perfect Wife, always complaining about your husband from day-to-day,
Always critical, abusive and hurtful in the words that you say
Because he’s not all that you think he should be;
Acting like your branch is completely straight hanging from God’s tree.
Let’s stop putting each other down and pointing the finger at one another,
Because in God’s eyes, we’re all sisters and brothers,
Branches hanging from God’s tree;
I not better than you and you no better than me.
We all have some work to do from day-to-day
Because when our seasons change, and the leaves of life fall away,
We will all find that we have some straightening to do
Because it will clearly be seen that there’s a little “crook” in you.

Well Done! A friend just shared this poem with me and I just had to stop by and commend you for bringing us such a needed reminder.
Words of wisdom and should be heeded. If only we would see each other as part of the whole we would certainly help each other to grow rather than putting each other down. As believers we need to grasp this concept.
Thanks for sharing it. God knows we need to be reminded so we always remember that we are nothing but branches.
Continue in service for our King. God bless!
