How can I KNOW LOVE?

God, You tell us in scripture,
God is Love
But how can I KNOW You
Know Love
When most everyone expects
Me to love first

From where do I learn
Who You truly are?
When everyone
Holds me away
So far

From whom do I learn
How to accept me
When all others reject me
Where I am now
How can I change
To be what they want?�

Is that really, Lord
What YOU truly want?
How long, Lord
Must I walk this road alone?
Until someone accepts me
Just as I am

For years, Lord, You know
I�ve been trying my best
To obey Your word
To learn to bless
Yet, Lord, it seems
The harder I try

Now, Lord, all I can do is cry

You know it�s been lonely
This road that I�ve trod
Alone, but not alone
You by my side
And, yes, I am thankful
You were always there

But Jesus, I�m bleeding
No one to share
The joys and the sorrows
My burdens to bear
That lie in my heart
Cause everyone
Spects me to love them first.

Will we ever find
True healing
When stubborn we are
Holding one another
Away so far?
Waiting to be loved

How, Lord, do I love
As you do
How, Lord, do I die
To wanting to be loved
First
And be first to love?

Lord, show me how..
Cause alone I am dying�
Apart from the body
Yes, I can hear hearts crying
Just like mine..

Come, Holy Spirit
Convict us of our sin
Teach us to open our hearts
For You to really live in
Not just for a touch
Though that�s ever so nice

But for Your habitation
Your Glory to shine
Your way, O God
Not mine
Grace for the moment
Hearts broken to mend

Teach ME, Lord
To love first
To tear down my walls
To venture out
To feel the pain
To come alive

To accept me
In spite of rejection
To know I am free
To make a connection
To others hearts
No matter the cost

Teach me, Lord
How to love
As you love me
Let me be first
To love
Not waiting to be loved
Any longer

Make me stronger in You
Than the fear that grips me
�Bout the pain I may feel
If they reject me
Or the anger they spew
While I grow in YOU

Oh, when will it stop, Lord
Our self protection?
When will we learn, Lord
Only dying will do?
When, Lord, will we come
Into the real knowledge of YOU!

And then come together
The Bride You desire
Joining as One
Purified as by fire?
When?
Oh, when I learn to love first?
Teach ME, Lord, teach me..

Teach me, Lord How to love As you love me Let me be first To love Not waiting to be loved Any longer...You really poured your heart out. I understand exactly how you feel. When you need a helping hand you have to lend one. When you want to be loved, you have to love first. We often pray to be like God. This is what it takes to get there. Enjoyed reading.
