An Unusual Toy Warning

The Bottom Line Always use care when playing with beach toys. But don't forget to have fun!

I was sitting on the sofa last night pondering all the toys my daughter had left out from a day's play. When I suddenly began to laugh and almost rolled off the sofa.

What was the source of such strong laughter?

It was a warning printed on a red, white, blue and yellow beach ball. I noticed the warning because I had been trying to determine from across the room if my daughter's ball needed more air.

The warning on this beach ball reads (I kid you not) :

WARNING! USE ONLY UNDER COMPETENT SUPERVISION

Normally, beach toys for children read :

WARNING! USE ONLY UNDER ADULT SUPERVISION

When I pointed this out to my husband, he pointed out that if they did not print it that way some guy would attempt to leap from his trampoline onto the beach ball or some such mess. You know, like in those insane videos people make attempting to win $10,000 from America's Funniest Videos.

I love playing with the beach ball both at the beach and on a nearby playground here in town. I am sure the wording is probably that way, more to allow kids to play without an adult in the game than to help a guy keep from breaking every bone in his body.

It just struck me as funny at the time. There is so much grief in this world, I thought if this made anyone else giggle it would be a good thing.

Side Note:
I believe God does not like it when we take things too seriously. So He creates 'giggle moments' for us to discover and share with others.
