There are so many dreams haunting me.
I feel they’re tearing me apart
as they try to break free.
These dreams weren't mine at the start.
They sprouted from tiny seeds
You placed within my heart.
For so long I didn’t know they were there.
You buried them so deep
with the utmost of care.
It makes me stop and wonder;
why in the world
You placed such big dreams
into the heart of one little girl?
What can I possibly do
to bring Your will to life?
And my Lord,
how will I know I’m going about it right?
Now these dreams I can't deny.
Those little dream seeds
You hid deep inside
have burst into pillars of flame
that I can’t hide.
Somehow over time,
these dreams have become mine.
Sometimes I think;
these dreams might be too big for me,
and I find myself wishing I knew
exactly what's up Your sleeve!
It makes me stop and wonder;
why in the world
You placed such big dreams
into the heart of one little girl?
What can I possibly do
to bring Your will to life?
And my Lord,
how will I know I’m going about it right?
Sometimes I wonder if it’s possible
You made a mistake.
I don’t know how to make a dream real,
and so far
they’ve only brought dead ends and heartache.
My mind overflows with questions.
I feel I should make a confession:
Lord, I need someone to guide me
‘cause I don’t know where to go
and I admit,
I’m horrible with directions!
It makes me stop and wonder;
why in the world
You placed such big dreams
into the heart of one little girl?
What can I possibly do
to bring Your will to life?
and my Lord,
how will I know I’m going about it right?
Lord, will You take my hand?
Will You show me the right road
in this unfamiliar land?
Will You guide me
until I understand Your plans?
These dreams are plans
You’ve had for me from the start.
These plans burn out of control
within my heart.
Lord, show me
how to bring these dreams to life.
Show me how to share these flames
and to the world bring Your light.
