Jesus chose and prepared His disciples to work for God's glory and before He ascended to heaven He commanded this to them...
"And then he told them, "Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. "
Mark 16:15
The disciples followed what Jesus said, yet they did not have the strength or the means to do it....and they trusted in the One Who had commanded them to do so and God equipped them to preach and bless others.
Recently as I was reading about the spread of the Gospel I read how under severe persecution the Gospel was preached, most of them were martyred..yet still they preached 'The Good news'.
When we preach the Gospel we will surely benefit the person whom we preach, however satan will be displeased as he is losing hold on that soul, and thus he will counter attack us with discouragements and problems in our lives, yet if we stand the ground in the name of Jesus. we will surely win.
I am much encouraged when I meet someone who earlier was not a believer, yet after having heard and received 'The good news' has believed and is it not true, that heaven rejoices in nothing else but when a sinner is saved and brought back to the kingdom of God.
The above is not just a command to preach and lecture others, but to rescue people from the clutches of satan and invite them into the kingdom of God.
The above command was given to the disciples of Jesus and stands true for everyone who believes in the 'Word of God' and puts His trust in Jesus Christ.
One of the greatest Evangelist history has ever known is D.L.Moody who once said "If you are not concerned about the lost souls, check out, you yourself are not saved."
After we have tasted the unconditional love of God. the Lord works through us to save them who are yet to know of this 'Great love'.
