"Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless
and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation,
in which you shine like stars in the universe."
Philippeans 2: 14 - 15

Shining Star
Written by Ann Marie "Ree" Brown
June 7, 2003

I want to be His shining star
One He looks at from afar
Smiling down on me each day
As I do things to please only Him

I want to put aside this world
The crooked ways and evil desires
Someone He can see that tries
To be a better person inside

But so many times I do fail
The goodness in me taken over by evil
I forget all the things He tries to teach
And fall into the world's evil ways

I complain many times about life
Things just seem so unfair
I forget that all that happens
Most likely is part of His plan

Help me to be your shining star
One that lives to glorify you
Shining brightly every day
Turning my heart to live for you
