"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."
-1 Timothy 2:5
As born again believers we believe this wholeheartedly! (I hope we all do anyway) But the Catholic Church does not! The Church's "traditions" teach that because Mary brought Jesus into the world, she shares in his redemptive power, thus giving her the code-name:
Any way you slice it, the Bible strongly states that there is only ONE mediator, ONE redeemer between God and men! Hebrews 12:22-24 tells us, "But ye are come unto mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels. To the general assembly and church of the first-born, which are written in heaven, and to God the judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel."
God says this about himself in Isaiah 60:16, "...thou shalt know that I the Lord am thy Savior and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob."
Not one time does God ever once say that Mary has ANY role to play in our redemption, NEVER!!!!
Take a look at John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." Sounds like Jesus (God) is again making it VERY clear who we go by (through) to get to God.
It is an absolute travesty that lay Catholics and even higher ranking officials do not know this. But over the centuries, Church leaders have told worshippers that only the priests are able or allowed to interpret Scripture, that the average person is unable to understand God's Word.
That is merely a ploy by Satan to keep people from reading the Bible for themselves! God's Word is written for a child to read and understand, so let NO ONE tell you as an adult that you cannot read the Bible.
I bet if more and more Catholics began reading the Bible and discovered the truth, the Vatican would suffer greatly at the loss of millions of people racing from its abominable Mass ceremony and directly into the arms of the one, TRUE mediator, redeemer...Jesus Christ, and receive him by faith alone!
