For those who have had young children or still do, have probably experienced your child coming to you and saying, "Mommy/Daddy, look at the picture I drew". The look on his or her face was one of proudness, happiness and excitement to finally finish the picture and show it to their parent. And of course, the icing on the cake was when they said, "This is for you Daddy".
My daughters are in their early teens and trying to come into their own identities and calling, so those days are few and between. However, Praise the Lord, there are still those days when they will do something and will proudly walk over and say this is for you daddy. On these occasions, it touches my heart to know that as a parent I may have done something right.
As children of our heavenly Father, when is the last time we drew a picture for Him? When is the last time we created something especially with Him in mind?
God reacts the same way as the parent who has just received a picture that was drawn for him. God enjoys and loves to accept our gifts to him. Just as the proud parent who may walk around and show off to his friends the picture that his child drew for him, God may proudly show off our pictures to Him to the angels and other heavenly beings.
The Christian musician creates a song for Him. The Faith writer writes a paper for Him. The Christian artist creates a painting for Him.
The question is, 'have you drawn a picture for God lately'? Or are you too busy finding your own identity and calling?
Thank you once again for bringing to our attention in this busy lives we live to the fact that we are children in the sight of our heavenly father and he seeks an intimate loving walk in every sphere of our lives. This afterall is the fellowship we are created for. God bless you.
