We know the Lord's Prayer. We've been told the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous availeth much. In modern days we have been told repeatedly that the best prayer is as Jesus said, "Let Your will be done."
Some pray in a prayer language, some don't.
This morning I really feel no urge to speak about the "how" we pray, except for this.
Have you ever though much of the silent side of prayer? You know, it's the side where you have either voiced or thought your hearts cry, you are searching for an answer, and then you just lay- or sit in silence and wait?
It is harder to do than most think. Very quickly we get edgy, and things tend to distract us. Our thoughts try to go somewhere else, and if not careful, we lose our intent.
The silent side. -The listening side. Whether audibly or inside us somewhere deep, the Lord DOES speak to His people.
We tend to want to do a lot more speaking or beseeching---- but rarely are we okay with just laying there waiting for Him to answer.
* Anyway, next time in prayer, if possible, just set aside for God. & Let Him speak to you. & Just lie silent before Him, expecting.
