Almost Time

Awake O Bride, and make yourself ready.
Is your lamp filled with oil ?
Are you beautifully dressed ?
Awake O Bride, adorn yourself ,
It's almost time to be eternally blessed.

Do you know the children are leaving their faith ?
Do you hear their mothers crying ?
It's almost time - the world loves itself,
Their love for Father God is dying.

The hour is coming, it's almost time,
The Groom's friend hears His voice.
He's paid your price and given His gift.
You are His Beloved, He's made His choice!

The foolish have slept, they've found their treasures
In earthly lusts and unholy pleasures.
It's almost time, deceptions abound,
Listen for the shout and the trumpet to sound!

You've followed the Lamb through a land not sown.
He's prepared for you a mansion, now He's come to take you home.
He's tarried for a season, He'll tarry no more
The bride will cross the threshold
Then the Groom will close the door.

It's almost time,
Nay, it's midnight, He's nigh!
The feast is prepared - the bread and the wine,
And we'll sup with the Groom and The Father at last...
Eternity's here-

The time

Has

Past.

This is a good poem, a great contribution to the writing challenge. I wrote a poem too, but went differently with the word, Almost. Good Job! Pete

Donna, this is an inspiring poem! Those end-of-time scenes from the Gospels and Revelation always intrigue me. You've done a wonderful job of encapsulating them in a poem! Well done! ~ Violet
