Matthew 2 verse 10, "When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy."
A beautiful eastern star was shining so bright
Its' light led the wise men through the dark night
They knew this sign from God would bring great joy
And led them to the birthplace of that little baby boy
The prophets of old had spoken of this great event
So to the town of Bethlehem the wise men went
They were filled with exceedingly joy beyond measure
As they presented to Jesus some gifts and treasure
King Herod was troubled about the news of this new thing
And demanded that the priests and scribes find this new king
So Joseph went to Egypt with his wife and new baby son
Herod's plans failed as another victory the Lord won
Yesterday I preached a sermon about this wonderful news
About the birth of Jesus the Savior, the King of the Jews
Today I woke up early and saw a bright eastern star
It reminded me of the wise men who came from a far
