I did not wake today before
the alarm shrilled by my ear;
I wanted nothing more than to
keep my sleepiness near
I knew I had to wake and rise,
and greet a brand new day;
but how those warm covers called to me
to come back in and stay
So rise I did, it just didn't seem fair
that it should still be so dark like night
it would have been much easier
had I looked out and seen morning light
Now up and awake, I take a moment
to reflect and thank God above
that I have yet another day given
to spend with you, my love!
What a gift each hour is to me,
each one a treasure brand new
and I can extravagantly 'spend' my love,
and give it all to you!
It is such a joy to begin each day,
knowing that it is true,
that there is no treasure worth more to me
than just knowing that I LOVE YOU!!
