When life seems dark and gloomy
And nothing’s going right
You’re longing for the daylight
But all you see is night
I have some words of wisdom
They’re tested tried and true
And they’ll bring comfort joy and peace
And they will see you through:
Whatever is true, whatever is noble,
Whatever is right, whatever is pure,
Whatever is lovely; worth admiring
Think about such things
And you will find the blessings
That lis’ning to God brings.
When doom and gloom come naturally
When helpless thoughts creep in
And you are heavy burdened by
The weight of all your sin
Remember God, ackowledge Him
And all His awesome ways
And soon you’ll find you’re singing
Throughout those dreary days:
Whatever is true, whatever is noble,
Whatever is right, whatever is pure,
Whatever is lovely, worth admiring
Think about such things
And you’ll have all the peace and joy
That lis’ning to God brings.
