From You I tried to run so far.
For so long I tried to hide my heart.
I don’t know what I was so afraid of,
I didn’t know You only wanted to show me Your love.
Now I’ve stopped running and I’m handing my broken heart to You.
I watch in amazement as You mend it and make it shine like new.
Lord, You loved me before the start of time.
Now I realize what I was searching for all along has always been mine.
All I had to do was reach out and accept Your gift.
Lord, I pray You forgive me for running for so long
and not believing love could be like this.
I didn’t know love could feel like this.
Didn’t know I’d feel so safe in Your Presence.
I didn’t know love could be so true.
Didn’t know I’d find everything I was looking for in You.
I didn’t know love could feel so strong.
Didn’t know it was possible for love to last so long.
I didn’t know I could ever be where You are.
Didn’t know I’d see so much beauty in Your scars.
I didn’t know You would love me just for who I am.
Didn’t know it was possible to find a perfect Man.
Now here I am.
I feel myself melting in Your arms again.
Lord, You take all the pain out of my life.
You take my mistakes and make them right.
You’re the only One who makes me feel this way,
You’re the only One who makes everything okay.
You’ve brought more blessings to my life then I can possibly count.
I can’t recall a time I was in trouble and You failed to help me out.
Even when I look back at my past,
Even when I was trying to run from You so fast,
Now I can see that even then You were helping me.
You were there during the times of my life when I was too blind to see.
You kept me from losing it all
And You were there by my side the very second I called.
When I least deserved anything from You, You gave me the greatest of gifts.
Lord, I pray You forgive me for running for so long
And not believing love could be like this.
I didn’t know love could feel like this.
Didn’t know I’d feel so safe in Your Presence.
I didn’t know love could be so true.
Didn’t know I’d find everything I was looking for in You.
