There was a man of the Pharisees
named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.
This man came to Jesus by night
and said to Him,
Rabbi we know that You are a
Teacher from God......
Jesus answered him,
Truly...I say to you,
unless one is born anew,
he cannot see the Kingdom of God.
[John 3:1-3]

"Lord?"
"Yes, child?"
"You know, I hear Christians
talk about the moment
they were born again......."
[NOD.]
".......sort'a like it
was the moment they
got married, or somethin'."
[SILENCE.]
"They'll even tell you
exactly what they were
doin', and who they were
with.....it seems kind'a
weird to me, Lord."
"Why, My child?"
"I don't KNOW;
it just seems odd.....
at least to - 'Ya know -
somebody like me."
"And who are you, child?"
"Huh? Well, eh....
You know, I'm Jewish, Lord."
[SOLEMN NOD.]
"I really don't wanna' go
into it all, here. But,
one day I wondered if the
lamb's blood on the doorposts,
at the Passover....
might be that of Jesus."
[PATIENT SILENCE.]
"I can't really remember when....."
"No, My beloved.
But, I do."

Nicodemus said to Him,
How can a man be born
when he is old?.............
Jesus answered.......
........Do not marvel that
I said to you,
You must be born anew.
The wind blows where it wills,
and you hear the sound of it,
but you do not know whence it
comes or whither it goes;
so it is with every one
who is born of the Spirit.
[John 3:4-8]
