Author requests article critique

I want the new life

passing from faith to faith.

I need it, I must have it

that extra dose of grace.

For I have been walking

through a swamp of fog.

I need the sun to shine

and I need a new song.

The old ways do not work,

I can not return back.

I must face forward

and press through this attack.

Oh dear God,

keep my eye on You,

keep Your word coming

refresh me a new.

I have not been perfect

still I answer your call.

You know how I've tried

and you know how often I fall.

But you keep picking me up

you still have faith in me.

There is not other choice

but to continue to believe.

Build my confidence

Fill me with your power.

I need your strength right now

each minute and each hour.

You know the roar I hear

in the waves and in the jungle.

You know how I react

and how often I bungle.

Do to me what you did for

Peter, Moses, David, and Paul.

They all messed up to a point

and then they turned around.

There's hope in you

because I am your kid.

A Father never gives up,

he wants his child to live.

Oh Lord, I plead the blood

of Jesus upon my mistakes.

And ask for your direction

as I expectantly wait.

"The old ways do not work; I cannot return back." I remember several years ago when this realization was my own. God's ways do not change, but His methods do. He wants his children to soar and it starts with new life in Him. Thank you for sharing your heart.
