Many people remember a funny Australian guy named Steve. He was one of my greatest heros of all time. I'd always laugh when he'd jump on a crocodile and almost got eaten alive. I remember the excitement he had in animals. He was a hero to me because of his love for both big and small creatures. He wasn't boring like some of the other animal professionals on tv. He loved each animal and wanted every person to feel the same way. When I was little girl I used to stick my hand in holes I knew I wasnt sopposed to stick my hands in. I was never scared of frogs or snakes. When I first saw Steve on television I immediately became attracted to him. Here was a guy who loved animals like I did! From then on, it grew. I remember watching his shows and him saying things like Crikey or Lookit this Mate! I had a dream of working at Australian zoo just like him. When the news came that he had died from a stingray I couldnt believe it. It was all too unreal. I cryed for 3 days, there were others all around the world crying. How could such a influential man die so early in his life? Later on I was thinking about it, and I realized that he died in a good way. He could have died much greater deaths like being mulled alive by a lion or eaten by a alligator, but God chose a place for him to die. In the playground of the beautiful barrier reefs. What greater place to die than looking at colored corols all around? I imagine he had some brief beautiful moments before he died. This man died doing what he loved most. Caring for Gods creatures, who would have known it would of happened? His legacy would go on forever. There was one thing I didnt get though. If this man had such an excitement for animals then why couldnt he have the same excitement for God? I hope Steve was saved, and that someone witnessed to him. If he was, he should have proclaimed Christ more. If Steve would have gotten saved his strong love for Christ and animals would have helped many people all over the world to know Christ. His love and encouragement and excitement for Jesus, just as much as animals would overflow. When I heard he died I couldnt believe it. Although many people dont really think of it, hell is a real place. Steve helped our environment and loved animals very much, but when he got to heaven he probably realized he had forgotteb something very important. He forgot Christ. There are so many other famous people and actresses. Although they were famous people, that still doesnt get you to heaven. Its believing in Christ and accepting Him, thats going to get you to heaven. In the Bible it says that like dust, all things will fade away when we get to heaven but if we know God, that wont waste away. So why dont we be something new? Why dont we try to be like the Crocodile Hunter, and have that same love and passion for Christ instead of animals? We should still admire the things he did, but animals arnt going to get you to heaven. If you have a strong passion for something make sure its God. We can become in love with money, life, food, and other things, but the number one thing is to be passionate for God. We need to be crocodile hunters for Christ! And yes, steves legacy will live on forever.

Your words were very well spoken. I watch his show myself and wonder all the time if he really new Christ. I lost my brother in 07. Christ gave me a chance to witness to him and to pray with him to ask Christ into his heart. It is not enough for us to know about God, but we must ask Christ into our hearts to take control of our lives. Keep writing young lady and most of all stay surrendered to Christ and your life will mean much here on earth.
